5 Signs You Belong in Rouge Abortion Doula School

Rouge is for everyone who believes in a radical future for abortion support. It's for those who want to reshape the global culture of abortion counseling and at-home abortion based on real people's experiences.

We are collaborative. We are unapologetic. We are building a new lineage of abortion doulas who lead with trauma-informed clarity. This is holistic training designed to reclaim abortion care as sacred, strategic, and rooted in collective power.

If you’re wondering how to become an abortion doula—or if you’re already doing the work but craving a deeper container—this is your invitation.

1. You’ve supported seekers—but paused just as it was about to go deep.

You’ve held space. But when things got real—when someone cried, panicked, or asked about blood—you redirected. You froze or stayed neutral because you were afraid to say the wrong thing, or because it was against the policy of your organization to discuss emotional topics.  

In our curriculum:

• Body literacy & self-managed abortion protocols grounded in WHO guidelines.

• Trauma-informed counseling through Compassionate Inquiry and somatic tools.

We teach you to stay present, not refer the client to another organization, not redirect the conversation to easier themes. Counseling containers can be an invitation for abortion seekers to find inner alignment. It is our job to hold this space.

In our curriculum:

• Womb-based ritual.

• Feminist Lineage work with The Great Cosmic Mother.

• Tools on how to manage counseling a diverse set of clients from multiple religions and faiths.

We train doulas who understand the roots of patriarchy and ancient feminine based spirituality that deepens the meaning of abortion for our times.

You’re tired of fitting into systems that silence you. You are ready to step up and take bold leadership in the repro space, and make your mark in meaningful ways. Rouge Doulas come from all over the world and speak multiple languages. Our curriculum incorporates global experiences, and invites you to help build our course library with your experience, knowledge and specializations.

In our curriculum:

• Intersectional frameworks & global abortion laws.

• Abortion stigma dismantling—internally and externally.

• Peer-led presentation space to claim your expertise.

4. You’ve seen harm in the abortion movement and seek a community where we are actively working to do better.

You’ve witnessed movement firings, emotional abuse, manipulation and backstabbing in your career. An old mentor once said, “feminist eat their young”, implying that the abortion movement has a big problem. Without confronting systems, cultures and attitudes that continue to replicate trauma and fracture in the movement, we are destined to recreate corporate or performative feminism. 

In our curriculum:

• Mediation structures for internal conflict

• Co-collaborative methods to work through tough cases and source information through the Rouge network.

• Meaningful involvement, and recognition of group knowledge and talent. 

This is holistic abortion support built on integrity, not optics.

5. You’re ready to lead—and not alone

Rouge is not a solo journey. It’s a training that plugs you into a living, breathing global network of feminist abortion doulas, rebels, witches, and caregivers reshaping the world.

In our curriculum:

• Collective organizing models

• Train-to-serve pathway for abortion pill support work

• Weekly cohort calls to co-create the culture of the course itself

This is a collaborative feminist container built to hold your boldest version of care.

Rouge Pills is a global abortion collective. We train doulas to move between the clinical and the cosmic, the digital and the ancestral. Our school weaves together:

• Medical accuracy (Mifepristone + Misoprostol protocols, WHO-aligned)

Course Details

Program dates: Sept 22, 2025 – Apr 19, 2026 (with a 3‑week integration break)

Format: Live virtual classes, guest speakers, peer role‑plays, readings, quizzes, and co-facilitated practice spaces

Commitment: 75% attendance, plus 6+ months of volunteer abortion support post-training
