HOW TO TAKE MISOPROSTOL: What is sublingual administration?

Sublingual = under the tongue

Sublingual administration of Misoprostol means that you put 4 Misoprostol pills (200mcg each) under the tongue.

You let the 4 pills dissolve for 20-30 minutes. Afterwards, you swallow the remnants with water.

Taking abortion pills under the tongue can cause sharp and intense cramping. This is good in cases where you want your abortion to move along more quickly or if you have taken previous doses of Misoprostol and the contents of your uterus aren't passing.

REMEMBER: There are three ways to administer Misoprostol: Vaginal, Sublingual, or Buccal. Taking Misoprostol vaginally can be detected in the vagina for days after insertion. If you live in a medically or legally restricted area, use the Buccal and Sublingual methods instead.
